Dr. Yossi Bachar is the owner of a company that is involved with business consulting and investments initiating. In addition, he serves as the Chairman of the Governing Council of Haifa University and as Chairman of Stonehage Israel.
Dr. Bachar served as the Director General of the Ministry of Finance from 2003 to 2007. In this period he dealt with the central economic issues on the agenda of the State of Israel, nationally and locally. Amongst others, he dealt with the initiation of reforms and structural changes in the Israeli economy and their implementation, including the reform in the capital market, known as "The Bachar Reform".
Prior to entering the position of Director General of the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Bachar served as the Director of the Accountant firm, Liuboshitz, Casirer Arthur Andersen for eight years. In 2002, with the collapse of Arthur Andersen Dr. Bachar led the repositioning of the firm, until the merger with Ernst & Young.
Bachar is a graduate of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in Economies and accountancy with excellence. He has a Master (MBA) in business administration and a PH.d in Financing from Barkley University in California. He served as a lecturer at the Business School at the Columbia University in New York as well as a lecturer at the Business School of Tel Aviv University.
Yossi Bachar was appointed a Board Member in June 2008. He Chairs the Audit Committee.
