On June 13th, 180 students of the Machon LeMadrichim (Institute for Youth Leaders from Abroad) - youth movement graduates from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, New Zealand, Paraguay, South Africa and Uruguay – gathered in the Rachel Hall at Kiryat Moriah to make the acquaintance of Jewish Agency Chairman, Zeev Bielski.
The students presented the Machon program and the highlights of their four months of life, studies, and voluntary work experience in Jerusalem. Most of the presentations were given in Hebrew.
Mr Bielski shared with them his experiences from his term as Aliyah Shaliach in South Africa and emphasized the significance of the Machon students' role in bridging between Israel and Diaspora Jewries.
Mr Alan Hoffman, Director General of the Education Department, further addressed the complex ideologicall issues facing the new generation of graduates from Zionist youth movements in the world today. The students rounded off the encounter with a first class musical performance.
