It was not a 'random' or 'irrational' decision, it was not even a particularly difficult one. Rather it was a natural step. It is perfectly natural that in 2006/5767, together with my wife and baby son, I came home. We came to rebuild what history has denied so many generations before us - a life as Jews in the Land of Israel.
However natural and obvious a move it may be, there are those who have made it so much easier. The Jewish Agency, and in particular the UK Delegation, provided help and council every step of the way. Those they work with, such as Nefesh b'Nefesh and the ZF, combined perfectly to provide a group experience, and a feeling family and belonging.
The main concerns of language, employment, housing etc. are not to be down played, and they will only be sorted with the excellent guidance such as we have, and continue to receive. But with this support, and that of family and friends, and of course G-d's help, thankfully, we are settling in swiftly and comfortably.
As for being a citizen of the State of Israel, this is an honour I am deeply proud of. Yes, we have our problems, and yes we have our enemies - but to truly contribute is to be here, in Israel. Thank you to all those who helped make our dream come true.
